Plants grown in water will only need to be fed every other month or so using a very weak liquid fertilizer. Healthy lucky bamboo roots are red, so don't be alarmed if you can see red roots floating in a glass vase. Lucky bamboo has a well-earned reputation as being nearly indestructible, which makes this plant ideal for novice gardeners or forgetful waterers. Lucky bamboo is easy to care for as long as you grow it in good quality water. If you are looking for additional ways to bring Zen into your home, you can also incorporate bamboo artwork or even use furniture with bamboo materials.

Place the plant in bright, indirect light and keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged. Avoid exposure to drafts or sudden temperature changes for optimal growth. Although lucky bamboo is an easy-going plant, there are a few issues to be on the lookout for as it grows. If your plant dies, it will not mean you are going to have bad luck, it simply means it didn't receive ideal care or its lifespan has simply ended.

Growing indoors in water is not just a cultivation method; it’s a captivating journey into the elegance of nature. Stay tuned for more insights on lucky bamboo care and watering your house plant as we nurture the green beauty within your living space. Additionally, growing bamboo plants indoors is a great way to connect with nature and cultivate a sense of mindfulness in your daily routine. The soil you use for your bamboo plant is just as important as the watering and lighting conditions for bamboo plant indoor care. In addition to proper watering, bamboo plants also benefit from high humidity levels, which can be a challenge in some indoor environments. While it is true that some species of bamboo can be quite aggressive, there are many non-invasive varieties that can be safely grown indoors.

Of course, there’s also a pool and deck chairs, which will probably get some use when the Rams have to wait nearly 60 picks from No. 99 to 154. And because Los Angeles is equipped with a first-rounder, there won’t be much time to relax on Thursday night like there was in years past. Los Angeles Rams offensive lineman Steve Avila, punter Ethan Evans, defensive back Tre Tomlinson, and running back Zach Evans give a tour of the Rams' 2024 Draft House presented by Zillow. Tune in to watch as they showcase the unique Rams memorabilia and talk about the intricate details and creative efforts that brought this year's Draft House to life. The highest drafted player by the organization during the McVay era, which began in January 2017, was center Steve Avila with the 36th pick last year.

The Rams have run their draft out of a draft house since 2021, though they referred to last year's location in the San Fernando Valley as a "draft lab." It’s a humble story, one with the capacity to inspire in its simple message of perseverance. But the film itself, as an artistic product, feels limited in its observational scope, because the filmmaker doesn’t have any distance from the material. Smallbone is a fine actor, but alongside Ramsey, he’s a limited filmmaker. Their visual style is drab at best, and the storytelling lacks the kind of self-reflection that might elevate this project. As it is, “Unsung Hero” feels more like band merch than an insightful family portrait.

In post-production, the project has received funding from Screen Australia, the South Australian Film Corporation, VicScreen and the Melbourne International Film Festival Premiere Fund. Bonsai Films will handle the local release in 2025. So far, two titles have received international backing.

The Rams went into the draft with thoughts of helping their pass rush, and Florida State’s Jared Verse was still on the board when L.A. “This film will be a hilarious love letter to lesbians, an ode to low-budget anime and most importantly, heaps of fun,” says Varghese. The initiative is part of the AFF’s continuous efforts to boost the South Australian film and TV industry; so far over 150 local projects have received funding from the festival and its ground-breaking Adelaide Film Festival Investment Fund. The Los Angeles Rams have selected Florida State defensive end Jared Verse with the 19th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. The Los Angeles Rams have selected Arkansas offensive lineman Beaux Limmer with the 217th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Featuring award-winning Big Dog’s Brewing Company brews and delicious Midwestern-inspired cuisine, Big Dog’s Draft House is always a great place for all of your fun occasions. As Sean McVay prepares to make a first-round pick in the NFL draft for the first time as a head coach, the Los Angeles Rams are setting up shop in a luxurious draft house for this weekend's event. The Seattle Seahawks took Texas defensive tackle Byron Murphy II and the Minnesota Vikings traded up to select Alabama edge rusher Dallas Turner. When the Cincinnati Bengals selected Georgia offensive tackle Amarius Mims, that opened the door for the Rams.

The Los Angeles Rams have selected Kansas State offensive lineman KT Leveston with the 254th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft. In addition, Zillow will be integrated into Rams content to introduce the team's 2024 Rookie Class. During the season, Zillow will have signage and digital brand exposure on The Infinity Screen at Rams home games at SoFi Stadium.

The Rams started a yearly tradition of renting a luxurious house in Southern California to be their draft headquarters back in 2021 and they’re continuing it this year. They’ll be in Hermosa Beach for the 2024 draft, a spectacular 9,150-square-foot house with ocean views. Membership slots are limited so be sure to sign up before the season kicks off! Movies are great, but when you pair a perfect movie with an expertly handcrafted custom cocktail, the experience becomes otherworldly. This is not the first time the Rams have done this.

Top pick Jared Verse thrilled Rams also picked his Florida State linemate

FOX Sports' NFL staff mock draft has the team selecting Florida State edge Jared Verse, giving Los Angeles some pass-rush help following Donald's retirement this offseason. That might explain why this year's draft house might be a little more lavish than past year's draft houses. The Rams' 2021 draft house was in Malibu, and it didn't seem to feature nearly as much team memorabilia in the team-provided photos.

In the beginning, Big Dog’s originally was known as Holy Cow! Brewing Company and operated on the fabulous Las Vegas Strip. In 2003, we packed up and moved to our current location at Big Dog’s Draft House in Northwestern Las Vegas. We’ve expanded our brewery operations four times since and now sell our kegged and canned beers throughout Nevada. Check out photos of the draft house below, courtesy of the Rams. Our obsession for movies is matched only by our obsession for beer.

They clean houses and landscape yards, clip coupons and accept the charity that comes their way, reluctantly, on David’s part. I was from out of town.Great place, good food, reasonably priced drinks and great service. The bar tender was friendly and told me about the area. Live music performances and exciting sports events make us a fantastic destination for your group. You may occasionally receive promotional content from the Los Angeles Times. Rams running back Kyren Williams established himself as a 1,000-yard rusher last season.

The design inspiration for the Zillow Draft House comes from the Rams' season-long theme celebrating music. Custom gold records celebrating the team's Hall of Famers and record-breakers line the walls. Photos and memorabilia from some of the most iconic musical performances from gamedays at SoFi Stadium appear along with concert posters honoring key moments in Rams' history. The headquarters also features a dive bar in the basement with a special merchandise room featuring the team's most recent apparel collaborations. "The NFL Draft sets the tone for the upcoming season, and we're continuously looking for authentic ways to elevate this moment for our team, our fans, and our partners," said Rams Chief Commercial Officer Jennifer Prince. "Zillow's real estate expertise and industry-leading technology set a new standard for how we're approaching this year's draft headquarters and we are thrilled to kick off our partnership with Zillow with this acclaimed campaign."

The Los Angeles Rams have selected Clemson defensive lineman Tyler Davis with the 196th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Zillow's latest technology helped Rams record-breaking wide receiver Puka Nacua tour the Zillow Draft House. Nacua was able to virtually walk through the home and view 3D floor plans through the new Zillow Immerse℠ app, available on Apple Vision Pro™ – the most interactive and immersive way to explore Showcase listings on Zillow. This state-of-the-art technology teleported him inside available homes, giving him panoramic 360-degree views of every room, all while using an AI-generated floor plan to visualize the home's layout. Nacua's experience of touring the perfect Draft headquarters was captured and produced into a short teaser video that was released yesterday on the Rams' official channels. The focus is on their hardships to get to that record deal, which is clearly what matters to filmmaker Joel Smallbone. It’s not the success, the Grammys, the stadium concerts, but the ways they stuck together, eked it out, allowed themselves to dream, all thanks to their mother, who never let David’s challenges get in the way of her kids’ imaginations. If you’re not yet aware of the Grammy-winning Christian pop duo For King & Country, comprising brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone, “Unsung Hero” will introduce you to their folksy family lore, if not their musical successes. The film is a biographical drama about the Smallbone family, a large brood from Australia who immigrated to Nashville in the early 1990s, following father David’s dreams of working as a promoter in the music industry. The Los Angeles Rams have selected Florida State defensive tackle Braden Fiske with the 39th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Los Angeles Rams have selected Texas wide receiver Jordan Whittington with the 213th overall pick in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The Zillow Draft House includes the Confirmed360 Lounge, Dos Hombres Outdoor Bar, and other luxury amenities. For any hospitality or events, the Zillow Draft House will feature Rams' partners including 1800 Tequila, Audi, Baxter of California, Bud Light, Corona, Gatorade and PepsiCo. Each year we sponsor a “Packer Backer” fan club that offers club swag, weekly and season-long drawing entries, discounts, freebies, and more for a nominal membership fee.

Jared Verse was thrilled to be the Rams’ first-round NFL draft pick, and became even happier when they also selected his college teammate Braden Fiske. By debut director Schilling, “With or Without You” is produced by the seasoned Su Armstrong (“Angel of Mine”) for SixtyFourSixty and Carolyn Johnson Films. Marta Dusseldorp (“Bay of Fires”) and Melina Vidler (“Elvis”) star as a mother and daughter who set off on an unexpected road trip with a stranger from another land (Albert Mwangi), that turns into a journey of love, humour and redemption. Armstrong says she fell for Schilling’s passionate voice and her story of intergenerational trauma and hope, inspired by the helmer’s own experience. The Rams completely transformed the spacious home, bringing in team decor for just about every room – from Rams-themed records to wallpaper in the bar area to a game room with a collage of past players on the walls. Our obsession for movies is paralleled only by our obsession for beer.

Therefore, “Unsung Hero” is like a much more expensive extension of the camcorder home movies that serve as a running motif throughout. This isn’t just a music biopic or a family drama — it’s a presentation of a family narrative as told and embodied by the family members themselves. A valid endeavor, to be sure, but important context when considering the work as a cultural product. “Unsung Hero” is co-written and co-directed by Joel Smallbone (with Richard L. Ramsey) and he also stars in the film playing his own father, who eventually managed the music careers of For King & Country, and Joel’s sister Rebecca St. James.

In 2023, the Rams set up shop in San Fernando Valley, placing their draft headquarters in a 10,000-square-foot home. They actually called it a "draft lab" instead of a draft house, and it included a bust of Aaron Donald, among other unique items. USC produced the top pick of the NFL draft in Caleb Williams, and UCLA produced the first defensive player selected in Laiatu Latu, taken 15th. Verse is also the first defensive lineman selected by the Rams in the first round since they chose Donald 13th in 2014.

He joined the Seminoles after five years at Western Michigan. The 6-foot-4, 254-pound Verse was the first player chosen by the Rams in the first round since 2016. We are the absolute best place to watch sporting events with our perfectly placed 25 TV’s and a giant 15 foot wide HD TV screen, you gotta see it! Stop in after work for our Happy Hour, the atmosphere is hard to beat.

Now, Verse will be asked to help replace Donald, a three-time NFL defensive player of the year who announced his retirement in March. The Rams selected the edge rusher with the No. 19 pick in the NFL draft. Beer battered Fries covered with lagunitas © ipa Beer Cheese, mozzarella, cheddar, feta cheese, bacon, and green onions. "This partnership is where cutting-edge real estate technology meets the excitement of football, offering fans a new way to immerse themselves in the Zillow Draft House," said Beverly Jackson, VP of Brand and Product Marketing at Zillow.

Photos of the White House Christmas Decorations Chosen by Jill Biden

white house christmas decorations

The East Wing of the White House was expanded to its current form in 1942 and includes the Office of the First Lady. Thank you to children’s book illustrator, Raúl Colón, for his inspired artwork throughout this book, which perfectly captures the “Magic, Wonder, and Joy” of the holidays. Embodying the “Magic, Wonder, and Joy” of the holidays is Santa’s Workshop in the State Dining Room. Elves’ workbenches, stools, and ladders circle the Christmas trees, with tools and gifts-in-progress filling out the decor. Life-sized nutcrackers and dancing ballerinas flank the Christmas trees and reside within the window wells, with festive ribbons and gift tags lining the fireplace. At the center of the room is a mechanical theater creation with rotating United States Marine Band figures entertaining guests with herald trumpets.

Thank You For Playing, and Happy Holidays From The White House!

Every year, the Blue Room’s chandelier is removed to accommodate the Christmas tree’s full height. Each room and design element throughout the White House holiday display encourages you to embrace your inner child, indulge your senses, and delight in the “Magic, Wonder, and Joy” of the season. As the largest room in the White House, the East Room has hosted public receptions, ceremonies, bill signings, and other memorable occasions. It also features a portrait of President Theodore Roosevelt, who helped establish 150 national forests, 51 federal bird reserves, four national game preserves, five national parks, and 18 national monuments on over 230 million acres of public lands. Winter trees, handmade woodland animals, and glowing lanterns line the journey down the East Colonnade, evoking the feelings of peace and tranquility after the first snowfall. The entrance to the East Wing of the White House displays the "We the People" theme that first lady Jill Biden picked earlier this year.

The White House says its pastry team used 55 sheets of baked gingerbread, 120 pounds of pastillage sugar-paste icing, 35 pounds of chocolate and 25 pounds of royal icing. The display features a gingerbread hospital, police station, fire station, gas station, school, post office, and grocery store. The China Room displays tableware and china sets used by past presidential families. The Library decorations are dedicated to educators who "found ways to connect with students in new and innovative ways, pushing through the challenges of the pandemic," according to the White House Holiday Guide. The gold star ornaments feature the names and ranks of the fallen soldiers, as well as their dates of death. The theme of the White House Christmas decorations is chosen by the first lady every year.

With bright colors and three-dimensional elements, guests will gaze in wonder as they are taken on a delightful adventure around the tree. A replica of a vintage passenger train, on loan from the Train Collectors Association, magically weaves through the tree’s base. In the Grand Foyer and Cross Hall of the White House, metal ribbons are inscribed with the names of all the 57 states, territories, and the District of Columbia, and mark the year each entered the Union. Mirrored ornaments and reflective surfaces ensure that visitors can see themselves in the décor, noting that the strength of our country—the Soul of our Nation—comes from We the People. In the Red Room, towers of candles and glowing stained-glass windows reflect the comfort, peace, and strength we find in faith. It’s often in quiet, candlelit rooms when we can see most clearly and feel most connected to ourselves and the world around us.

Christmas decorations in the Vermeil Room of the White House include a tree, wreaths in the windows and a garland over the fireplace. "The hallway alcoves and tree displays depict wintry scenes of life within our towns and cities, reflecting the solace of faith, the lasting bonds of community, and the perseverance of the American spirit," the White House Holiday Guide reads. Morrison, who is the first female White House pastry chef, built the gingerbread White House with 55 sheets of baked gingerbread, 120 pounds of pastillage, 35 pounds of chocolate, and 25 pounds of royal icing. The Christmas trees on either side of the theater are decorated with instrument-shaped ornaments. The traditional Biden family stockings are hung from the fireplace mantel in the State Dining Room of the White House. He reflected on the "We the People" theme at the White House this holiday season, saying "we've come together in a spirit of joy," and that "our greatest strength is Americans standing united."

Illustrations of the Biden family’s pets—Commander and Willow—make a surprise appearance in the Vermeil Room, reminding us of the gift of unconditional love. One of the first Christmas trees visitors will see is decorated with wooden gold star ornaments engraved with the names of fallen service members. One of the first Christmas trees visitors see after entering the White House is decorated with wooden gold star ornaments engraved with the names of fallen service members. The decorations include more than 83,000 twinkling lights on trees, garlands, wreaths and other displays, 77 Christmas trees and 25 wreaths on the White House exterior. Volunteers also used more than 12,000 ornaments, just under 15,000 feet (4,500 meters) of ribbon and more than 1,600 bells.

Renderings of Commander and Willow are shown enjoying holiday gifts in the Vermeil Room.

A Christmas tree stands in the Red Room during a press preview of White House holiday decorations on Nov. 29. The official White House Christmas tree, an 18.5-foot-tall (5.6-meter-tall) Fraser fir, stands in its usual place in the Blue Room. The massive tree highlights cheerful scenes, landscapes and neighborhoods from across the country. “Each room is designed to capture this pure, unfiltered delight and imagination” so visitors “see this time of year through the wondrous, sparkling eyes of children,” the first lady said Monday at the first of a month’s worth of holiday receptions.

Each set reflects the presidents and first ladies who selected their designs and recalls the State Dinners and celebratory meals that have brought together world leaders and diplomats. Holiday greenery and red cardinals line the columns and beams of the East Wing Lobby. Many people believe that red cardinals signify the presence of lost loved ones.

The first Christmas tree featured inside the White House is adorned with wooden Gold Star ornaments that are engraved with the names of fallen service members. The Gold Star tree honors the heroic men and women of our Nation’s military who have laid down their lives for our country, those who are Missing in Action, and the families who carry on their legacies. 83,615 lights were used to decorate the trees, garlands, wreaths, and displays in the White House.

"I don't know how you feel, but I feel it's just breathtaking," the first lady said to applause and cheers during an event unveiling the White House's holiday decorations. "The holidays offer a time for reflection and a break from our hurried lives, a season to be fully present with our friends and our families." The White House is lit up with the holiday spirit — more than 83,000 twinkling lights, to be precise.

Among them will be French President Emmanuel Macron, who will meet with President Joe Biden at the White House on Thursday and be honored at a state dinner, the first of the Biden administration. This holiday, as you gather hand-in-hand and heart-to-heart around the dinner table, we hope the China Room inspires you to share healing laughs, comforting meals, and warm memories with loved ones, extending the Gift of Friendship and Sharing. Wrapping the branches of the room’s Christmas tree are garlands of intertwined hands symbolizing friendship, fellowship, and merriment. To celebrate the Gift of the Visual Arts, the Vermeil (French for “gilded silver”) Room glows with bright, bold, colorful paint brushes and paint swatches, representing the diverse American artists whose talents bring delight to all. From historic portraits to graphic art displays, from light installations to marble sculptures, from wood carvings to children’s handprint art, the visual arts bring us joy, calm our minds, and inspire our imaginations. The stunning tree celebrates cheerful scenes, landscapes, and neighborhoods from all across the country, with names of every state, territory, and the District of Columbia, showcased throughout the decor.

When theatres and concert halls shut down during the pandemic, new apps and digital platforms allowed us all to join together virtually, keeping us connected with performers in joy, laughter, and awe when we needed it most. The Blue Room, featuring the Official White House Christmas Tree, celebrates the Gift of Peace and Unity. Cascading down the tree, peace doves carry a shimmering banner embossed with the names of each state and territory of the United States, reminding us all of the importance of unity and national harmony. This year, stacks of books as well as butterflies and birds made of recycled newspapers decorate the Library, reminding us that, with the Gift of Learning, we can soar to places we never imagined and rise to meet any challenge. Throughout the past year especially, we have all appreciated the Gift of Learning.

The room was dedicated by President Franklin Delano Roosevelt to serve as the White House Library in 1935 and now holds approximately 2,700 volumes of books, focusing primarily on American history and literature. Dating back to the Eisenhower administration, a large Christmas tree has been consistently featured in the Blue Room. This view shows the White House from the Ellipse, where the National Christmas Tree is surrounded by smaller trees representing the 50 states. The room also displays a Nativity scene with over 40 figurines that dates back to the 18th century. The gold-star ornaments are engraved with service members' names, ranks, and dates of death.

First lady Jill Biden was joined by National Guard leaders and families for the unveiling of the 2022 Christmas decorations. White House Christmas decorations on the theme "We the People" are seen here at the entrance to the East Wing. Hanging from the fireplace in the State Dining Room are the Biden family Christmas stockings.

The China Room, which was first introduced as a display room by First Lady Edith Wilson in 1917, houses tableware used by past presidential families. Most presidents, beginning with George Washington, are represented by either a personal or State Service of porcelain, glass, or silver. Each piece recalls the State Dinners and celebratory meals that have brought together world leaders and diplomats. In the Blue Room, renderings of the official birds from all 57 states, territories, and the District of Columbia adorn the Official White House Christmas Tree, illustrating the beauty and strength that comes from unity. The individual tree trimmings shine on their own, but woven together, this unified collection transforms a humble fir into a stunning symbol of We the People. The display includes a sugar cookie replica of the famous book, as well as Santa’s sleigh flying above the White House grounds. This magical poem has delighted children for 200 years, with families across the world gathering together for generations to recite the lyrical lines by memory. The White House and its residence share the holiday cheer felt by all of the country this time of year. The decor of the Red Room represents the joy of making holiday crafts together. Whether sewing a costume for the Christmas pageant, stringing popcorn for the tree, or fashioning homemade ornaments, the holidays are a time for creativity and imagination. Around the White House are 77 Christmas trees, 25 wreaths and more than 83,615 holiday lights, according to the first lady's office.

First lady Jill Biden unveiled the 2022 Christmas decorations on Nov. 28 and thanked volunteers from across the country who helped decorate the White House to celebrate the season. Beginning in the Eisenhower Administration, a large Christmas tree has been consistently featured in the Blue Room. The centerpiece of the holiday season, an 18 ½ foot Fraser Fir from Jefferson, North Carolina, stands floor to ceiling and fills the oval room. Every year, the room’s chandelier is removed to accommodate the Christmas tree’s full height.

The Cross Hall is lined with glowing Christmas trees, and it also houses the official White House menorah.

The doves and shooting stars represent "peace and light brought to us all by the service of frontline workers and first responders during the pandemic," according to the White House Holiday Guide. The China Room display includes holiday baking supplies amid gingerbread houses, holiday cakes, and other themed desserts. The official White House Christmas tree, an 18.5-foot-tall Fraser fir, takes its usual place in the Blue Room, where the chandelier has to be taken down to accommodate its height. The massive tree this year celebrates cheerful scenes, landscapes and neighborhoods from across the country. The traditional gingerbread White House recreates the classic story by featuring a sugar cookie replica of the book along with Santa's sleigh flying above the grounds. The official White House Menorah is on display in the Cross Hall connecting the State Dining Room and the East Room, which is decorated with trees and various advent calendars.

The display includes a sugar cookie replica of Philadelphia's Independence Hall, where the Constitution and Declaration of Independence were signed. The Constitution opens with the phrase, "We the People" — the theme of this year's holiday decor. In addition to thousands of lights, the White House is decked out with 77 trees, 25 wreaths on the exterior, and a glorious array of garlands, ornaments, glittering stars and gingerbread houses. A burst of pine aroma hits visitors as they step inside the East Wing and come upon trees adorned with mirrored Gold Star ornaments bearing the names of fallen service members. Arranged in the windows of the room are purple trees accented with natural orchids.

Christmas trees in the State Dining Room feature photos of the Bidens, as well as past presidential families.

The White House says more than 150 volunteers came together to decorate the building over the course of a week. It has eight detailed replicas of community buildings to honor front-line workers, including a hospital, police station and fire station. As part of Joining Forces, her White House initiative to support military families, Jill Biden was joined by National Guard leaders from across the country, as well as National Guard families. Stockings hang over the fireplace in the State Dining Room, which is decorated to reflect the theme "The Gift of Family." The White House is illuminated and decorated with wreaths, with the National Christmas Tree lit up on the Ellipse, surrounded by smaller trees representing the 50 states. The official 2021 White House Christmas tree, displayed in the Blue Room, is an 18-and-a-half-foot Fraser fir from Jefferson, North Carolina.

Hanging from the fireplace in the State Dining Room are the Biden family stockings, which will get filled with an orange in the toe — a tradition from the first lady's grandmother. The East Colonnade of the White House is decorated with winter trees, animals and lanterns. On Monday, first lady Jill Biden revealed this year's Christmas decorations, under the theme "We the People," which she selected months ago.

The theme of the White House Christmas decorations is chosen by the first lady every year.

Classic holiday books are displayed throughout the room, and Santa and his reindeer can be spotted flying through the sky in the window. First lady Jill Biden unveiled the 2023 White House Christmas decorations on Monday, centered around the theme "Magic, Wonder, and Joy." "But it's in these times, when we are searching for hope and healing, that we need those points of light the most, that we need each other the most," she said. "It's in these times that I hope you remember, if even just for a moment or a season, how you saw the world as a child." In her prepared remarks, the first lady said she knows that magic, wonder and joy can be hard to find, especially as the days grow shorter, the weather turns colder "and our hearts grow heavy in the face of a tumultuous world."

A military aide stands among the Christmas decorations in the State Dining Room at the White House on Nov. 28, 2022. Aides say she was inspired by people she met while traveling around the country and by the nation’s founding documents, the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Located in the State Dining Room, the gingerbread White House took 20 sheets of sugar cookie dough, 30 sheets of gingerbread dough, 30 pounds of chocolate, and 40 pounds of royal icing to construct. The White House pets are depicted sitting in gift boxes from Operation Gratitude, a non-profit organization that delivers care packages to deployed troops, first responders, and military families.

Each family who made this house a home reminds us all of the enduring love and lasting bonds of family. The official Christmas tree, an 18-foot-tall Fraser Fir from Fleetwood, N.C., stands in the center of the oval Blue Room during a media preview of the 2023 holiday decorations at the White House on Monday. The Library honors the tradition and magic of bedtime stories during the holiday season. Golden moons and shimmering stars are suspended above, with treasured holiday storybooks throughout the peaceful scene. Santa and his sleigh are seen through the window, flying past a full moon on his way to the White House.
